The Teaching Assistant program is designed to provide an opportunity for high school students to gain experience in working with children in a professional setting.  Designed for students who plan to enter the career of teaching or working with children, students are assigned to work in a district classroom under the supervision of a classroom teacher.  Course requirements include attendance, training, completion of several projects and daily journals.  An application, interview, essay, and teacher recommendations are required to register for this course.  Grades are issued on an E, S, or U system.
