Welcome to the York Suburban High School website.  At York Suburban we are proud to provide 137 core courses, 60 electives, and a variety of courses that incorporate 21st century skills into a rigorous and relevant curriculum.  Our fine arts, vocational, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs provide many opportunities for students to develop talents and explore areas of interests that contribute to a comprehensive high school program .

York Suburban High School is committed to providing our students with classrooms that are interactive and challenging learning environments.  We have received the Classrooms for the Future grants in the past and have taken advantage of the intensive professional development training for our teachers.  This training encourages teachers to explore multiple ways of meeting the needs of our students through the infusion of technology and differentiated instruction.  We have also been developing professional development opportunities for students, teachers and administration in order to provide a solid foundation for 21st century skills.

We have experienced continued academic success
over the past several years.  Our students are extremely competitive locally and nationally, which is evident in our SAT scores, our number of National Merit Finalists, and our local state assessment scores (PSSA).  We have also been working to address the social and economic diversity that contributes to our district by offering activities such as Diversity Week held in the spring and offering over 38 clubs and activities for our students.

The collaboration among stakeholders and the commitment to excellence is what inspires us to achieve.  We are very proud of our students, our highly qualified faculty, and the community we serve.  In order to continue our tradition of excellence, we are committed to ongoing growth and improvement as we face the challenges of our changing world.  Our goal is to remain at the forefront of education in our region, our state, and the nation.

Respectfully,

Russell E. Greenholt, Ed.D.
