 The York Suburban School District welcomes those who wish to volunteer their time and talent to benefit the students of the District.  In order to volunteer, authorization must be granted by the appropriate District administrator.  In many cases, legislative acts require background checks and clearances before an individual can be approved to volunteer.  If you have been directed by an administrator to obtain clearances:

Act 153 of 2014, requires that all current employees, independent contractors, and volunteers obtain and renew criminal background checks and clearances every five years.

Act 126

Act 126 of 2014, mandates that all school district employees, who have direct contact with children, complete 3 hours of training every five years on child abuse recognition and reporting. The training is transferable among school districts in PA, so if you have already had the training, you will just need to forward a copy of your certificate to Sue Grove at York Suburban Education Center.

Act 168 of 2014, mandates employment history reviews for new employees who have direct contact with children that are hired by school entities. Before being offered employment, a job applicant must complete the Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release form identifying the name, address, telephone number and other contact information of:

 

The applicant’s current employer;


The applicant’s former employers that are school entities;


The applicant’s former employers where he/she held a position that involved direct contact with children (care, supervision, guidance or control of children or routine interaction with children).

NON PROFIT - COMMUNITY MOBILIZER POSITION

 

The York Suburban Communities That Care Alliance (YSCTC) is looking for a part-time contractor to serve as Community Mobilizer to provide program and administrative support to this non-profit organization (www.ysctc.org).  The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree and have experience in program services, resource development, and marketing/promotion.  Strong administrative, communication and organizational skills required.  Residence within the York Suburban School District also required.  Prior non-profit and QuickBooks experience is a plus.  Hours are flexible in order to attend meetings and provide program support.  The position is limited to 840 hours annually and the successful candidate must provide his/her own office space. Interested candidates should send a cover letter and resume to ctc.mobilizer@gmail.com.

PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS AS SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS K-12


The York Suburban School District is accepting applications for prospective teachers to be substitute teachers for all levels, K-12 and in all subject areas. Applicants must have completed 60 semester hours from an accredited PA college or university.  Education majors may substitute for up to 20 days per school year. 
$100/day
 
 

 

 

SUBSTITUTE NURSES/HEALTH ROOM ASSISTANTS


The York Suburban School District is accepting applications for substitute nurses and
health room assistants. Applicants must have a current license as a Registered Nurse or
Licensed Practical Nurse
