Welcome to The York Suburban School District website. We are proud of our long standing reputation for academic excellence. On average, over 80% of the student body goes on to higher education. With a wide selection of courses designed to meet the needs of all learners, the York Suburban School District provides students the opportunity to reach his or her maximum potential regardless of skill or knowledge upon entry in the district.
The York Suburban School District continues to grow in student population and this has presented challenges. The Yorkshire Elementary School building project and Valley View Elementary School renovation were necessary to alleviate overcrowding at the elementary level. The 2011-12 school year will feature a reconfiguration of the the elementary buildings. Valley View and Yorkshire will be Kindergarten through grade 2 buildings while East York Elementary and Indian Rock Elementary will house students in grades 3-5. The Board of School Directors and Administration continue to study and revise the ongoing maintenance, building and renovation needs of the district.
We are committed to educating, challenging and preparing our students to shape the future. We believe in the importance of meeting the needs of every student, in every classroom, in every school in which everyone is valued for his or her uniqueness and has the opportunity to achieve an optimum level of success in a rigorous, relevant learning environment designed for the 21st century learner.
Along with a staff, students, school board and administration, totally committed to academic excellence and student success; the partnership between the school and community is vital. Thank you to the parents and community for your ongoing support.
