LANGUAGE ARTS 6
Thanks for logging into my website. I am really looking forward to the upcoming 2010/2011 school year especially after taking a professional leave from school this past spring. During this time off, I was able sharpen my saw so to speak by taking 9 credits focusing on language arts that I fully intend on implementing in my classroom. I have also focused on several courses related to technology as I want to incorporate these strategies into my classroom as well.
I have developed a class moodle that you may link to as a reference highlighting the important content and standards that I will teach. Also included in the moodle will be daily homework assignments, important due dates for long-term assignments, detailed explanations and models of major writing assignments, classroom procedures and much much more. Please take advantage of this valuable site by linking below. Please email me if you need the guest enrollment key.
Class Moodle
I love the following quote. It is what I aspire to emulate in my classroom.
"I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized."
