Career and College Program Opportunities

York County Alliance for Learning (YCAL) sponsors a variety of field experiences throughout the school year. Students and parents should use the links below to review current opportunities and sign up for any they are interested in. 

On-Site Career Exploration Programs - The Career Exploration programs feature more than 30 unique opportunities for high school students to engage with and explore potential career avenues. While most programs are open to students in grades 9-12, seats are limited, and students will be accepted based on seniority, then in the order of application received.

Pre-Apprenticeship Programs - The Pre-Apprenticeship programs provide students with a structured sequence of engagement activities to explore career options, develop skills, and gain insight into the nature of an Apprenticeship Program, thereby assisting them in making informed career choices. 

College representatives interested in visiting York Suburban High School are asked to register for a time using Scoir. If none of the times listed work, please contact Mrs. Heiland, High School Guidance Administrative Assistant, to make other arrangements.

Area businesses and agencies interested in volunteering at events and/or partnering with York Suburban to provide high school student internships, pre-apprenticeship programs, job shadowing, or volunteer service opportunities should contact Mr. Shearer, Career, College, & Workforce Coordinator
