The York Suburban School District is soliciting bids for Asbestos Abatement at York Suburban High School, located at 1800 Hollywood Drive in York, Pennsylvania 17403.

This project consists of, but is not limited to, the following:

• Transite
• Floor Tile/Mastic
• Pipe Insulation

Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference - June 10, 2026

All prospective bidders must attend a mandatory pre-bid conference on June 10, 2026, at 10 a.m. EST at York Suburban High School, 1800 Hollywood Drive, York, Pennsylvania 17403.

Bids - Deadline June 26, 2026

Bids will be received by the York Suburban School District at the Education Center, 1800 Hollywood Drive, York, Pennsylvania 17403 until 2 p.m. EST on June 26, 2026. Bids will be officially opened and read aloud at that time for the following Contract #26-1024-002.

• Bids should be clearly labeled “Asbestos Abatement Project.”
• Bids will not be considered unless accompanied by cash, a certified check, or a cashier’s check drawn upon a bank authorized to do business in this Commonwealth, or by a Bid Bond with corporate surety payable to the York Suburban School District in the amount equal to 10% of the extended bid amount.
• The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, with or without cause.
• Project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act.
• Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, ancestry, age, disability, sexual orientation, or national origin.  

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids for construction of Additions & Renovations to York Suburban High School, 1800 Hollywood Drive, York, Pennsylvania 17403, will be received at the High School until 2 P.M., prevailing time, on August 4, 2026.

• Bids must be submitted to the attention of Michelle Kendig, Chief Financial and Operating Officer.
• Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes bearing the name of the Bidder and shall be clearly marked “Additions & Renovations to York Suburban High School”.  
• Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids.  
• Bids received after the above-referenced date and time shall be returned to the Bidder unopened.

Separate, sealed Bids will be received for the following Prime Contracts:

• 3703-1  - General Construction
• 3703-2 - Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Construction
• 3703-3 - Plumbing Construction
• 3703-4 - Electrical Construction

On or after June 19, 2026, Bidders may obtain bidding documents in hard copy and/or PDF electronic format by submitting a written request for the same, and for printed documents, together with a check in the non-refundable amount listed below, payable to Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, 401 E. Winding Hill Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.

Acquiring bidding documents, and questions pertaining to the Contract Documents, technical sections, legal documents, and the bid submission shall be directed in writing to Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates, Attention: Bidding Department, email: bidding@cra-architects.com

Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid amount and all alternate bid amounts in the form of a Bid Bond as described in the Supplementary Instructions to Bidders.

A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the forms provided in the Project Manual, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the Contract, and each with satisfactory corporate surety, must be furnished by the successful Bidder prior to execution of a Contract.

Bids may not be modified, withdrawn or cancelled by the Bidder for sixty (60) calendar days following the actual date of opening thereof, except as provided by the Commonwealth Procurement Code. However, if award of Contract is delayed by the required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of a grant or grants, Bids may not be withdrawn by the Bidder for a period not to exceed 120 days from the date of bid opening in accordance with Pennsylvania law.

The York Suburban School District reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject any or all Bids and to waive irregularities in any Bid.  Further, the York Suburban School District reserves the right to award any combination of Alternates, or no Alternates, which, in its sole discretion, serves the best interests of the School District.

This project is subject to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor and Industry’s Prevailing Wage Pre-Determination.

Corporations seeking to bid that are organized under the laws of a State other than Pennsylvania must secure the appropriate certificate, authorizing them to conduct business within the Commonwealth.
