Photo and Video Permissions

During the school year, there may be times when York Suburban School District staff would like to photograph students and/or their work to highlight their achievements, school activities, or classroom lessons. Those photographs may then appear in District and/or school print and electronic publications, websites, or social media sites.

Additionally, from time to time, the York Suburban School District receives requests from the media to publicize its educational programs and student activities. Those interviews may then be shared by the news media in print, on television, over the radio, or on the internet.

District administration appreciates the opportunity to feature our students and the activities taking place in our schools, but we understand that for a variety of reasons, parents/guardians may prefer their child not be photographed/videotaped.

Parents/Guardians - If you DO NOT want your child to be photographed, videotaped, or interviewed for the above-named purposes, submit the electronic form linked below. If an opt-out is not submitted, permission will be assumed.  An opt-out must be submitted yearly and does not apply to yearbooks.

Foster Parents - The District does not automatically opt out children in foster care. Please complete the form if needed.

Questions - Please email Mrs. Rhonda Fourhman, the District’s Director of Communications & Community Relations, at rfourhman@yssd.org if you have questions.

Photo/Video Opt-Out Form

If you choose to submit the form, school staff will notify photographers and reporters of your preference when they arrive at school and identify the child(ren) not allowed to be photographed. However, if your student participates in public performances, the school/district may have little or no control over photographs taken by the media, other parents, or community members attending the event.
