Photo and Video Permissions

Use of Student Photos & Interviews

During the school year, there may be times when York Suburban School District staff would like to photograph students and/or their work to highlight their achievements, school activities, or classroom lessons. Those photographs may then appear in electronic or print communications.

Additionally, from time to time, the York Suburban School District receives requests from the media to publicize its educational programs and student activities. Those interviews may then be shared by the news media in print, on television, over the radio, or on the internet.

We appreciate the opportunity to feature our students and the activities taking place in our schools, but we understand that, for a variety of reasons, parents/guardians may prefer their child not be photographed/videotaped.

Parents/Guardians: This form is OPTIONAL and should be submitted ONLY if you do not wish for your child to be photographed/recorded by the District, media, or both. If an opt-out is not submitted, permission will be assumed.

Foster Parents: The District does not automatically opt out children in foster care. Please complete the form if needed.

2026-2027 Photo/Video Opt-Out Form

If you choose to submit the form, school staff will notify photographers and reporters of your preference when they arrive at school and identify the child(ren) not allowed to be photographed. However, if your student participates in public performances, the school/district may have little or no control over photographs taken by the media, other parents, or community members attending the event.
