There is a $50 student activity fee for all students who participate in extracurricular activities during the school year. The $50 student fee is an annual fee that covers all extracurricular activities the student participates in, regardless of the number of activities. All students must pay the fee or apply for and be granted a fee waiver in order to participate in activities.

Payment 

• Pay online through the school store in Infinite Campus. 
• Fee Waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis. To qualify, the student must be approved for free or reduced lunch. Waiver requests are kept confidential. A new waiver must be filed for each school year.
• Any student who has not paid the fee or been granted a waiver will not be allowed to participate in any extracurricular activity until the fee is paid or the waiver is granted.
• Refunds will be granted for students who are cut from an athletic team at the beginning of the season.  Refund request forms are available on the website or in the main office.

The Contract for Participation in Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities only needs to be completed once each year. If your student is likely to participate in a sport during the school year, please submit the signed contract available in Infinite Campus and linked below as part of the beginning of the school year paperwork. While the contract may be submitted later in the school year if a student decides to participate after the school year begins, students are expected to comply with all participation guidelines for the entire school year, regardless of when the form is submitted.

Contract for Participation in Extracurricular Activities

No student-athlete is eligible to participate in practices, inter-school practices, scrimmages and/or contests unless the student-athlete has completed a comprehensive initial pre-participation physical evaluation (CIPPE) performed by an authorized medical examiner, and the authorized medical examiner has completed the PIAA Comprehensive Initial Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form (CIPPE Form). By signing the PIAA CIPPE Form, the authorized medical examiner certifies that the student-athlete is physically fit to commence practice and participate in inter-school practices, scrimmages and/or contests in the sport(s) approved by the student-athlete's parent/guardian. The CIPPE may not be authorized earlier than May 1st and is effective, regardless of when performed during a school year, until the next May 31st. Students must be finished with spring sports prior to submitting physical paperwork for the following year.

Any student-athlete who previously participated in PIAA interscholastic athletic competition pursuant to a CIPPE and is seeking to participate in subsequent sport(s) in the same school year must, not earlier than six weeks prior to the first practice day of the next sports season, complete and turn in the Re-Certification by Parent/Guardian part of the CIPPE Form (Section 7). Any Supplemental Health History questions checked yes or circled shall require that student-athlete to submit a completed Section 8, Re-Certification by Licensed Physician of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine, prior to that student-athlete’s additional participation in interscholastic athletics. A student may not submit a re-certification form for a future season until their current season has been completed.

York Suburban will host physical night(s) during the summer for all student-athletes for the following school year. Dates and registration links will be provided to coaches to distribute to their communication groups. Information will also be distributed to the school community via email, newsletters, and/or other appropriate communication tools. Student-athletes are encouraged to register for physicals on these dates to ensure paperwork is completed well in advance of the sports season and to provide an affordable, reduced-price option for York Suburban families.

The School Board requires parents/guardians of students who participate in an interscholastic athletic program, band program, and designated extracurricular programs to purchase the student accident insurance available through the School District or provide proof of comparable insurance prior to the student’s participation. The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) is the governing organization for collegiate athletics, setting rules on eligibility, recruiting, and financial aid. Student-athletes must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center to be eligible to play NCAA Division I or II sports in college. Athletes playing in Division III do not have to register. The NCAA Eligibility Center certifies whether prospective college athletes are eligible to play sports at NCAA Division I or II institutions. It reviews the student-athlete's academic record and amateur status to ensure conformity with NCAA rules. Additional information can be found on the High School Counseling Office page.
