Has the Board considered that perhaps York Suburban SD is just too small to maintain its independence? Many years ago, local control was important to residents and so having a small district was essential to have such control. Maybe that control is not as important now given the real costs to maintain it and clear reluctance of residents to invest in it.

It seems that the surrounding school districts have managed their facilities planning much better than YSSD. They also seem to be doing a fine job of educating students. For both management and education reasons, I no longer recommend people move to YSSD over Dallastown or other nearby districts.

Now is time to consider splitting YSSD among the surrounding districts.

710 ERLEN DRIVE I do not agree with the the current renovations proposal and the huge tax increases as a home owner. I beleive the incoming student population does not designate all of the improvements mentioned. I also feel we went all these yaers with no pool why add one now. The East York elem has had many renovations over the years. Why do the school lights have to stay on all year round when it gets dark. The whole front of the scholl doesnt need to be lit up. I could see 1 at each end or 2 or 3 motion light but not 8 or so lights just in the front on all year round . We as tax payer pay for that. Not sure E York needs to be tore down an rebuilt. Keep Indian rock dam open. You will be forcing alot of fixed income people out of their homes with the crazy tax increase. No one will want to move in the school district with the huge tax hike. There has got to be a better solution than what is on the table now? Our taxes has doubled in the last 13 years its crazy.York Shire was rebuilt looks nice. I dont feel design with all the windows and no blinds to pull to block the hot sun was a vey smart idea. That just makes ac run more and runs up the utilities and again we as tax payer pay that bill.
