Students, educators, school staff, and bus drivers...show off your school spirit with our printable first day signs! The deadline for video submissions is Wednesday, August 27, at noon. Submission details can be found below.

Directions

• Print or fill your device screen with the appropriate first day sign linked below.
• Take your first day photo on August 19 (Transition Day) or August 20 (First Day for all Students)
• Share your picture with your friends, family, and the District for a chance to see your smile featured in our back-to-school video!

Submission Information - Deadline August 27 at Noon

• First day photos for the video should be emailed to pr@yssd.org. By submitting your photo, you grant the District permission to use your image.
• Be sure to include your child's name and school in the email. Names will not be used in the video, but will assist in organizing submissions.
• Include only your children in your photo submission (not your neighbors, just in case they don't want to be in the video).
• Photos edited with filters, stickers, or text overlays may be cropped, or a request for resubmission may be made.
• Submissions received after the deadline will not be incorporated into the video.

Photography Tips

• Clean your camera lens - This is especially true if you’re using a cellphone. Smudges can distort your photo.
• Check your lighting - If possible, take your photos near a window or outside.
• Take photos horizontally, not vertically - Horizontal images tend to work best in the video.
• Zoom with your feet - If you walk closer to your child to take the photo instead of using zoom, especially if you’re using a phone, your child's face will be much clearer.
• If you have multiple children, consider taking one photo with them together to ensure they appear together in the video.
• You do not have to use one of the District's signs to be in the video; however, if you are using one of the store-bought signs, please be mindful of what personal information and details are available in your photo.

Please Note
You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours to acknowledge receipt of your photo submission for the video. If you do not receive an email back from Mrs. Fourhman, there is a chance your image was not received. Unfortunately, once the video is finalized, photos cannot be added, and we would hate to miss anyone. If you do not get a confirmation email by August 28, please send the email again to ensure it was received.

The video will be posted on our website and social media sites as quickly as it can be completed. It may take a few days after the deadline, depending on participation. Thank you in advance!
