Website Accessibility Statement

We want everyone who visits the York Suburban website to feel welcome. To that end, we are committed to making our website accessible and user-friendly for everyone.

What are we doing?
We are using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the York Suburban website and have implemented the following measures to make our website more accessible:

  • Alternative Text: We provide alternative text for images on our website, which can be accessed by screen readers.
  • Keyboard Navigation: We are working to make sure all pages on our website can be accessed using a keyboard only, without the need for a mouse.
  • Clear Language and Layout: We use clear and simple language and a consistent layout to make it easy for all users to understand and navigate our website.
  • Color Contrast: We ensure that all text on our website has sufficient color contrast to make it easy to read.
  • Closed Captions and Transcripts: We are working to provide closed captions and transcripts for all videos on our website to make them accessible to all users.
  • Descriptive Link Text: We use descriptive link text to provide users with more information about where the link will take them.

How are we doing?
We will continue to evaluate our website and remain committed to maintaining our compliance. If you cannot fully access the information on any web page of this site, please contact us at 717-885-1210 or email us at pr@yssd.org.
