Last evening, the School Board of Directors approved the Athletics Health and Safety Plan, which can be viewed here. As a result, summer workouts may begin. Student-athletes will be contacted by their coaches with more details about dates and times. Meanwhile, student-athletes must complete the Participation Acknowledgement Form and the Fall Sports Interest Form prior to beginning participation in any workouts. Additionally, all student-athletes must read and adhere to the following responsibilities outlined in the approved plan:

Stay Home! If you have had COVID-19 symptoms, a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19, or have been exposed to an individual with the aforementioned, you should not attend workouts until you receive medical clearance and provide it to the appropriate York Suburban personnel.

Continue to monitor for symptoms after returning. Situational awareness and caution must be applied. If there is any question that you are experiencing symptoms, have a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19, or have been exposed to an individual with the aforementioned, do not attend workouts and contact your coach.

Come prepared. Locker Rooms will not be available during summer workouts. Students should come dressed in proper workout attire.

Bring water. Students must bring their own water.

Wear a mask. Masks are required. Students must wear masks any time they are not actively engaged in a workout or drill in order to follow guidance from the Governor’s office and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Complete the required forms. The Participation Acknowledgement Form must be signed and turned in prior to participation. Contact information should be provided for coaches and school personnel through the Fall Sports Interest Form.

Screen yourself daily. Using the COVID-19 Monitoring Form, students and coaches will go through screenings prior to the start of each session. This will be a good reference for self-monitoring at home as well.

Participants may be removed from play. Student-athletes not complying with the Athletics Health and Safety Plan will be removed from the session for the health and safety of all others in attendance.

Some student-athletes may want additional resources to help them deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. We invite all student-athletes to utilize the information that can be found in the Health and Wellness Resources section of our COVID-19 web page.

Finally, we understand that the situation surrounding COVID-19 is fluid. As a result, the plan will be reviewed and revised as necessary following updates provided by our governing bodies and health officials.
