Author Erin Morris met with Indian Rock Elementary School students to share her book titled Who is Sam the Soldier? In addition to being a writer, Mrs. Morris is a former officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps.

During her presentation, she shared details about daily military life, military terminology, and photos from her time in the service. Some of the most interesting images were from her time living in a Containerized Housing Unit (CHU) while stationed in Afghanistan.

Mrs. Morris also explained the complicated process behind writing, illustrating, and publishing a book. It was an excellent opportunity for our students to meet both an author and a veteran of the U.S. military!
