Important Masking Update

February 11, 2022

Per the current Health and Safety Plan, we have been calculating the seven-day rolling case rate per 100K each week on Fridays by noon. Today’s calculation is 289.9. We are happy to report that this number is below the masking threshold of 400 identified in the Health and Safety Plan.

Therefore, effective immediately, masking will be optional for students, staff, and visitors in all York Suburban buildings until the seven-day rolling case rate per 100K exceeds 400. Masking will continue to be required for all those traveling on school vehicles, per federal transportation guidelines.

Additionally, we will be taking steps to reduce the amount of communication you receive related to COVID-19. Building-wide emails announcing new cases of COVID-19 will no longer be sent. However, parents and guardians of students who may have contacted a COVID-positive individual will still receive an email notification.

We will also continue to keep our COVID-19 dashboard updated. Those who are interested in our district-wide or building-specific numbers are encouraged to check the dashboard regularly.
