Dr. Rebecca Lorfink has been named the next assistant superintendent of the York Suburban School District. The Board of School Directors unanimously approved the hire during its meeting on June 20, 2022. Dr. Lorfink will fill the assistant superintendent role vacated by Dr. Scott Krauser, who will serve as the district’s superintendent beginning on July 1, 2022.

Dr. Lorfink brings a wide range of experiences to her new role, including 14 years as an administrator with Susquenita School District, where she is currently employed. She has also served as an elementary, middle, and high school teacher during her 25-year career as an educator.

“It is truly an honor to be given this opportunity by such a renowned district,” said Dr. Lorfink. “I look forward to learning more about what makes York Suburban unique by collaborating with students, staff, and community members. Continuing the positive momentum started by those before me is a challenge I am excited to embrace.
