Principal's Message

Dear York Suburban Community,

Welcome to York Suburban Middle School!  Middle school is a pivotal time in the development of young adolescents, and our school strives to prepare students that are well-rounded, highly engaged, and tolerant of others.  It is our goal to support students and their families as they move through grades 6-8.

As principal of YSMS, it is my privilege to work alongside a fellow educational leader, Mr. Tyler Laudeman (Assistant Principal), and a large staff of caring and dedicated teachers.  The staff of YSMS strive to create a learning environment that is challenging, engaging, and academically rigorous.   During middle school, students are exposed to a variety of unified art classes which expose the students to classes that push the boundaries of our students.

Although cliche, it is often said that ‘It takes a village’ to raise a child.  At YSMS, we agree!  The transition from childhood to adolescence takes place during middle school, and our young learners require a village of support.  The involvement of our YSMS families, teachers, and peer groups are vital to the academic achievement and individual development and growth of our students.  I look forward to working alongside our entire YSSD school community.

It is my privilege to be part of this incredible school community and building.  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Yours in Education,
